Short Description:
The Kata-Ashi is one of the most iconic figures Naka Akira became popular with in Europe. We started to play with it first time in 2015 but it was not before starting to learn from Riccardo Wildties that we really got a clue what this is about. There are many subtle details in technique and intention… and endless possibilities to learn and explore. In this workshop we want to share with you our research and our own interpretation. The foundation is a solid Takate Kote in Kinbaku Luxuria Style. Depending on the level of the group, we will address details and fix issues.
Based on that we will work on intention, flow, rhythm, seme and maai in several exercises implementing different variants of the Kata-Ashi figure: starting safely on the floor and then raising up. Depending on the level of the group, we will eventually introduce first transitions starting from that figure.
This is a hands-on workshop, you will tie a lot.
